Friends of REVA, INC:

The REVA Clinic has come a long way, in fact, REVA CO-Operative’s name has officially dropped off CO-Operative and added an INC. as of 09/2011 with both The IRS and The State of California tax agencies. Officially, the organization is now known as: Responsible, Ethical, Volunteers for Animals, INC., which is still a 501(c)(3) tax deductible public charity for The Kern River Valley.
Another new growth spurt for REVA, INC. is the special bank account set up at Alta One Credit Union in Lake Isabella. This account has been set up specifically for the purchase of medical equipment needed for the REVA non-profit, low-cost spay and neuter mobile veterinary clinic, and would be tax deductible for the donor.   Furthermore, if a donor specifically names the piece of equipment they wish to donate toward, their name will be engraved on a plaque on that particular piece of equipment. Items that are too small for name plaques will have the donors’ names engraved on a donors’ commemorative plague at the side entrance to the mobile, truly making REVA, INC. a Kern River Valley Community effort.
Another benefit of donating to this special account, besides it being tax deductible, is that each donor will receive a legally endorsed letter, which states the amount donated and for what piece of equipment; however, if for any reason this nonprofit mobile clinic doesn’t materialize, the donated funds will be returned to each donor. The medical equipment cost, including 30 stainless steel cages, is approximately $39,641.
Thanks to the many Kern River Valley residents, who came out for the indoor beach party fund raiser held in The Family Life Center in Wofford Heights on September 17, 2011, “ The Cruising At The Beach” dinner, dance and auction raised $1000.00 after expenses.
On a more somber note, the completion date of October 2011 for The REVA non-profit, low-cost spay and neuter mobile veterinary clinic has been pushed to February 2012, because of difficulties that needed to be corrected.
Although, REVA, Inc. has been extremely busy this year with various fund raising events and Kern Valley residents have come out to support these fund raising efforts, REVA, Inc. still needs your financial support on a monthly basis, and not just at the fund raisers. The fund raisers are being implemented, because REVA, Inc. is not getting financial support on a consistent basis.
When people work together on a worthwhile project that is created to benefit the community–like REVA’s non-profit, low-cost spay and neuter mobile veterinary clinic–the community wins!! For example, folks on a fixed income or not having the ability to pay will be able to have their pet spayed or neutered through REVA’s mobile clinic at a cost that they can afford. Plus, when the clinic is equipped, it will be locally based with a local Veterinarian on staff, will be scheduled to set up in convenient Kern River Valley locations for all residents to utilize its services, and will employ at least 4 local residents, therefore helping with the Valley’s economy.
Furthermore, REVA’s mobile clinic will help Valley residents, who care for feral cat colonies, through a systematic spay and neuter program of trap, alter, and release.  This program will keep the colonies healthy, and yet, will in time diminish overpopulation and abuse of these homeless cats.
In conclusion, Dear Friends of REVA, with so many positives now in place for REVA, the Valley and its furry companions, it is up to all of you to help plant the seeds of possibility by donating on a consistent monthly basis and get The REVA, Inc. nonprofit, low-cost spay and neuter mobile Veterinary clinic on the road to something amazing. Although, challenges are different, today, when we work together, we turn elusive potential into tangible performance, so donate regularly to REVA, and together you and REVA, Inc. will accentuate the possibilities for The Kern River Valley.
Sincerely,
Jesse Martinez, President
